In our nearly 60 years in business, Richfield Blacktop and Concrete has had great customers, completed thousands of driveways and poured over 8.5 million square feet of asphalt and concrete. This year we wanted to start off 2013 with bang.
When we decided to start off 2013 with a Free Driveway Contest, we had no idea what kind of response we would get. We were shocked and elated to have 88 entries! After having our team go through all 88 entries, meet with the entrants and learn more about the stories that were shared, we have a winner!
Before we get to that though, we want to thank everyone that took the time to take pictures of their driveway, enter the contest and share your stories with us. We had a lot of incredible entries, some from very needy families, some hilarious and creative posts, and even some poetry.
The contest allowed us to learn more about our customers and meet some really cool people along the way. It was a really hard decision, but the 2013 Winner of the Richfield Blacktop and Concrete ‘April 15th Isn’t All About Taxes…’ Photo contest and the recipient of a brand new FREE driveway from Richfield Blacktop and Concrete is:
John and Anne Weber of Cottage Grove
John submitted an entry in our contest for his wife, Anne. Anne has had some medical complications over the last fewyears and is wheelchair bound. Through these changes, they moved in with Anne’s parents who made an addition to their home that is wheelchair friendly and accessible for her. Her parents used the last of their life savings to complete this for her and the driveway is just not feasible. The driveway has lots of cracks and the apron that connects the driveway to the garage has cracks that her wheelchair has extreme difficulty navigating.
That’s where we come in! We chose John and Anne to be our winners as the need is definitely there and we wanted to make her transportation and their lives a little easier.
